Welcome to a revolutionary approach to healthcare protection: Healthsharing

​

Healthsharing is more than just an alternative to traditional health insurance – it's a community-driven movement that prioritizes solidarity, affordability, and compassionate care. At its core, healthsharing embodies the belief that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare without the burden of exorbitant premiums and bureaucratic red tape. It is a community-based approach that's been around for over 40 years and allows members to save about 50% on costs compared to insurance plans.

 

Memberships are typically structured such that monthly fees are lower, especially if the member elects to pay a higher IUA or "unshared amount" before receiving reimbursement from the group (in insurance lingo, aka: the "deductible"). These memberships should be purchased to cover catastrophic events, such as ER visits, hospitalizations, surgeries, etc. -  not  for wellness visits, minor illness, chronic medical conditions and services that can be handled by your medical provider at Daily Apple Clinic.

Healthsharing can be complex, so we've created a spreadsheet with four of the best programs we could find (see below). We included criteria that we think will help you make a decision as to which could be a best fit for you. The actual spreadsheet has links to each of their webpages, member guidelines, reviews, nonprofit tax documents, and the opinions of others about these companies. We can show this to you when we come to your worksite for a presentation and will provide specific marketing materials for any program you may be interested in. 

Our goal was to do the hard work of researching the various companies to enable you to have a decent apples-to-apples comparison of the very best companies and to give you more confidence in choosing a solution that might meet your needs. As with any big purchase, remember to read your membership guidelines carefully, especially if you have pre-existing conditions or known concerns, in order to purchase the membership that is most appropriate for you.

As you can see, these companies pay commissions to individuals who market their programs to potential members. Individuals earning those commissions must be trained and certified to market their products, which we are. However, any commissions we receive are refunded to our patients minus a few dollars a month to cover software expense and ACH transaction costs.

We provide this as a "free" service. We don't think it's appropriate to keep these commissions, because we believe these funds belong in your pocket and not in the pocket of another middleman. If a doctor with a typical patient panel in a DPC clinic were to keep the commissions paid by each of their patients on those plans, they would double their salary - for doing very little. Not much integrity in that when you're already earning a monthly fee...

To be clear, we are not in the business of selling healthsharing memberships. We make no money at all on this and have no conflict of interest. This is an arrangement between you and your healthsharing organization. However, we know most folks want this type of security and support, so we are more than happy to help you sign up for your chosen healthsharing membership, provide a nice discount, and show you how to access your data via their portals, if interested.

It's pretty simple. By organizing this information and by paying forward discounts on the very best healthsharing plans, we can offer a more complete healthcare package and put more money in your pocket where it belongs. You, of course, also always have access to the Daily Apple Clinic membership portal to know exactly what each employee is paying for (their contract w DAC), and to verify employee census and accurate payment processing.
